In many cases it is not possible due to area availability to have a full size basketball court installed at your property. This however will not prevent you from enjoying the game of basketball on smaller surface areas.

Other options for backyard sporting areas, as displayed in the image gallery are the inclusion of golf putting greens & swing set areas.
This area would be the minimum if you wish to maintain court dimensions set out by Basketball Australia.
Width: 6.10mtrs – Length 7.70mtrs. Free throw line is only possible with this surface area
A comfortable surface area, allowing some placement of the 3 point line. This area would adhere to FIBA court dimensions.
Width: 8.00mtrs – Length 8.00mtrs. One on one & three on three games can be played
The length of this court would need to be changed to 8.50mtrs if you wanted the 2010 FIBA layout changes.
If you have the room, this is your ideal area. The court has the width (15.00mtrs) of a full size basketball court and is 10.00mtrs long.
Three on Three games or greater numbers can be played comfortably due to the run off allowance.
